John Knowlton is a civil litigation attorney, with 25 years of professional experience with small, large and complex matters. Mr. Knowlton heads the Shafer Law Group's Litigation Department, assisting corporate, business and individual clients with pre-litigation conflict resolution, settlement and mediation, as well as full litigation services where necessary. His practice focus includes business contract development (Buy-Sell/Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, Business Formation, Leases Agreements, Etc.), commercial business matters/conflicts, construction contracts and disputes, Elder Abuse, professional liability, intellectual property, personal injury and related areas.
Mr. Knowlton received his B.A. degree from the University of California, San Diego in 1980, with a degree in Physiological Psychology. After working as a surgical assistant at the renowned Salk Institute for Biological Studies and then as a medical writer, Mr. Knowlton attended Southwestern University where he received his degree of Juris Doctor in 1989. Mr. Knowlton was the recipient of several academic awards at Southwestern University, including the Award of Exceptional Achievement in Moot Court. Mr. Knowlton has taught several legal classes through the UCLA School of Law and served many terms as Judge Pro Tem through the Superior Court.
